What home schooling issues might concern me?

We have identified 7 issues that we think are the most important to consider...

  1. Is it legal?
  2. Who will teach?
  3. What does it cost?
  4. How long does it take?
  5. What about curriculum?
  6. Who is responsible?
  7. How do I start?

Is it legal?

You are probably thinking that all of this sounds good but what are you supposed to do: just pull your kids out of school? What about the authorities? Is it legal? Be assured that it is lawful for you to control the education of your children. However, it is important to check your local and state regulations to find out what records you need to keep.

Who will teach?

Another question you may have is regarding a teacher. If you decide to take your children out of school who is going to teach them? Experts agree that you are a good teacher for your children, with or without experience. You might even find there are other parents who want to share teaching on individual subjects.

What does it cost?

The next question that is probably coming to your mind is, "How can I support my family if I have to quit my job and homeschool?" One option is to start a work at home business. Plus home school costs a lot less then conventional school .

How long does it take?

Do you think that you are too busy and your time is limited? No problem. You probably have 2 to 4 hours a day to spend with your children to give them the quality time they need, right? That is all it takes to home school, because your children will be getting personalized attenton and can work at their own pace.
